Why Citavi?
JLU currently offers a campus licence for Citavi (as of 2023) and is therefore free of charge for students and staff. The desktop programme is only available for Windows; CitaviWeb, with its somewhat limited range of functions, also makes Citavi available for Macs and tablets.
With the reference management programme Citavi you can, among other things
- Import references for books, articles and many other types of literature from online sources (e.g. catalogues, specialist databases, websites),
- Create bibliographies in various styles,
- Search for full texts of electronic journal articles using the library system's link resolver and save them in Citavi,
- insert citations into your text using the Citavi Word Add-In and
- Create bibliographies automatically and format them in different citation styles.
Important: When you install Citavi, you automatically receive a licence for
Citavi Web with your Windows licence, which you can use in any browser regardless of the operating system.
