Orientation Weeks for First-Semester Students

The orientation weeks offer you the opportunity to discuss the most important questions about starting your studies in a small group with mentors and future fellow students, to get to know the university and the departments and to deal with important formal matters together.

The Orientation Weeks during the winter semester 2024/2025 take place from 30 September to 11 October 2024 as an all-day programme.

Orientation Days for Master's Students

The aim of the orientation days is to ensure the smoothest possible transition to the new study phase and a successful start to the Master's programme. You will be accompanied by mentors in small groups and supported in clarifying important organisational matters.

The Orientation Days during the winter semester 2024/2025 take place on 10 and 11 October 2024 as an all-day programme.

Orientation Week for International Students

Für internationale Studierende organisiert das Akademische Auslandsamt im Rahmen der Orientierungswoche für internationale Studierende (OWIS) zahlreiche Einführungs- und Orientierungsveranstaltungen, damit Sie wichtige Ansprechpersonen und Einrichtungen an der JLU sowie weitere Institutionen aus Gießen kennenlernen können.

The Orientation Week for International Students during the winter semester 2024/2025 takes place from October 7 to October 10. The majority of the programme is conducted online.
