Interface Analytics of Energy-Storage Materials
In the field of electrochemical energy technology and materials for energy conversion and storage, physico-chemical experiments are performed using material- and surface analysis techniques. The focus is on time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS), but also X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and focused ion beam electron microscopy (FIB-REM). In-situ experiments in ToF-SIMS and XPS are particularly in focus.
In addition, ToF-SIMS was established as a classical material science technology for life science applications. Collaborative projects link us to the medicine and botany.
Dr. Henß is responsible for the method platform ELCH "Electrochemistry and Interface Laboratory" at the Center for Materials Research.
