This workshop is divided into two parts that blend theory and practical application. In the first session, participants will explore the fundamentals of course design, beginning with discussing briefly the tool of needs assessment to understand learner profiles. The session will then cover the formulation of clear learning objectives, the creation and organization of meaningful instructional phases, and the integration of feedback and assessment strategies to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with student needs.
Learning Goals
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify the role of needs assessment in understanding learner profiles as an initial step for course design to meet the specific needs of students.
- Formulate clear and measurable learning objectives that align with the tutoring or teaching course.
- Get familiar with basic instructional phases that promote meaningful learning progression and student engagement.
- Integrate feedback and assessment strategies effectively to monitor student progress and make continuous improvement to the tutoring course.
