MSc Veranstaltungen Pflanzenphysiologie
The 6-week Molecular Plant Physiology module starts in the New Year and aims to provide a solid theoretical and experimental basis for research work in molecular plant physiology, including MSc projects in the Institute. It involves extensive, hands-on laboratory work including: numerous current recombinant DNA methods (PCR, cDNA synthesis, restriction/ligation, cloning, DNA preparation, heterologous protein expression and purification, electrophoresis methods, western blotting, yeast 2-hybrid, etc.); transfection and generation of transgenic plants; in-vivo reporter methods including GUS- and FP-tagging; bright-field and fluorescence microscopy; pigment extraction, purification and characterisation. The lectures are directed towards our research focus, namely plant molecular genetics and photobiology, in particular the phytochrome system in Arabidopsis.
