Workshop: The German Job Market - Requirements and Possibilities
In this job application workshop the focus will be on job interviews especially for the German labour market. Find out about how to meet the expectations in your written application as well as in your overall performance!
You will receive input information about
- application procedures/requirements
- useful strategies for self-presentation (including body language and dress codes)
- how to deal with individual strengths and weaknesses, common questions, elevator pitch
The workshop also includes pair work activities for practise/monitoring.
There will be time for questions regarding your CVs or covering letters in German.
The workshop deals with questions of German language for applications and interviews, but will be held in English if required – according to knowledge and need of participants. If desired, there will be ample opportunity for practising job interviews in German.
Trainer profile: Renate Graßtat, M. A., is currently teaching German as a Foreign Language at Humboldt University Berlin, the University for Applied Sciences in Brandenburg, the Berlin School of Economics and Law and to business clients (German and international companies). Her focus is on “Survival German” and advanced language training programs for doctoral students, job application training, exam preparation for university entrance tests, academic writing and intercultural issues, especially with respect to academic culture and the German market.
Requirements: Regarding the language proficiency, participants should at least have German B1 level.
