Bodies of ZEU

The Executive Board is responsible for the day-to-day operations, the administration of the budget as well as the staffing of the center.

The Executive Board comprises of a speaker and two other ZEU members as his or her deputy. Currently it is composed of

  1. Prof. Helmut Breitmeier
  2. Prof. Lutz Breuer (speaker)
  3. Prof. Ramona Teuber

The Center’s Council elects the Board members for the duration of three years. The Managing Director belongs to and serves the Executive Board in an advisory function.

Within the frame set out by the Center’s Council, the Executive Board decides on all matters in connection with coordination and ongoing administration. It is also responsible for the Center’s strategic business.

 

 

The Council is responsible for the strategic decisions, quality assurance and the configuration of the focal areas.

It comprises of the Executive Board, the focus areas‘ speakers,  two representatives of the group of research assistants, one representative of the administrative-technical personnel and one person out of all members who is especially responsible for equality and gender issues (serves in an advisory function).

The Center’s Council decides with regards to the Center‘s strategic focus and direction and prepares rules and standards concerning the Center’s quality management.

Members of the Center shall include PhDs, Post Docs and administrative staff, provided that their positions are designated in the Centre.

In addition, professors of Justus Liebig University appointed by the Executive Board may become members of the Centre for a period of four years upon justified application. Furthermore, external memberships are possible, but only in an advisory capacity.
The General Assembly convenes at least once a year. All members of ZEU have a vote in the General Assembly. This body decides on changes to those regulations, which have been proposed by the Center’s Council or the Executive Board.
