Initiated by the „International Teaching Team“ of the NIDIT project, initial contacts have been established in recent weeks between academics from the Universidad de Santander (UDES) in Colombia and the Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU). The aim of the personal visits was, among other things, to find opportunities for cooperation in the field of university didactics and continuing education. Furthermore the team of Task #2 „International Teaching Training“ received another guest from Colombia on 14 June 2022: Dr. Markus Meier, lecturer at the Universidad de Santander (UDES) and contact person of the DAAD project "Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies" (DIES). After a welcoming speech by Prof. Dr. Katharina Lorenz, Vice President for Studies and Teaching at JLU, a presentation of the NIDIT project by the "International Teaching Training" team followed. The subsequent exchange focused on the current and future teaching offers in the context of digital and international teaching as well as the NIDIT cooperation with the Virtual International Programme (VIP) and the initiative "International Collaborative Teaching" of the International Office of the JLU. The discussion with our guest resulted in several perspectives for future cooperation between NIDIT-International Teaching Training and Universidad de Santander.x During a guided tour of our „NIDIT-Lab for Innovative Teaching“ led by Maraike Büst and Eva Dabrowski, Dr. Markus Meier also gained an insight into the diverse equipment and the multifaceted possibilities of innovative digital university teaching that go hand in hand with digital media. In addition to an introduction to the "Diagnoptico" project by Dr Michaela Stark - which focuses on digitisation in archaeology - Dr Markus Meier was also given the opportunity to try out various innovative devices with didactic purposes.
