Legal requirements by the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research)
The aim of the “Gesetz zur Schaffung eines nationalen Stipendienprogrammes (StipG)” (Law for the Creation of a National Scholarship Programme) is to provide support for talented and high-performing students at universities in Germany with a scholarship worth 300 euros per month. In addition to the law is the “Verordnung zur Durchführung des Stipendien Gesetzes (StipV)” (ordinance for the implementation of the scholarship law).

Awarding regulations at JLU
At JLU, the established “Verfahrensregelungen zur Vergabe des Deutschlandstipendiums“ (Procedural Regulations governing the Awarding of the Germany Scholarship) are based on the aforementioned BMBF provisions (StipG and StipV). The Procedural Regulations include provisions governing the composition of the selection committee, the application procedure and the award of the scholarships.
