Overview
European Master of Comparative Vertebrate Morphology (EUCOMOR) is an Erasmus Mundus scholarship programme funded by the European Commission. It is coordinated by a consortium of five European universities:
- University of Antwerp, Belgium
- Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany
- University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna, Austria
- Poznań University of Life Sciences, Poland
- University of Naples Federico II, Italy
The student needs to engage himself in student mobility and spend at least 2 semesters in different partner institutes.

Composition of the Study Programme
The rationale behind the EUCOMOR programme is the increase that is seen in the use of non-invasive and molecular imaging techniques, molecular biology, in vitro assays and the steady state in the use of laboratory animals.
This Master programme trains competences (combination of knowledge, skills and attitude) related to:
- structure and development of vertebrates
- morphological techniques
- vertebrate morphology
- animal and in vitro models
Each year is divided into two semesters with a workload of of 30 ECTS credits. The courses of each semester are structured in clusters. Despite the option to combine courses from the same cluster, students must not chose courses from different clusters in the same semester.
The programme comprises 60 ECTS credits compulsory courses, 30 ECTS credits elective courses focusing on imaging techniques or in vitro assays, and 30 ECTS credits for the Master thesis.
The working field appreciates the competences of such a Master of Comparative Vertebrate Morphology for ensuring further progress in biomedical experimental animal research, imaging and education.
