At JLU, the topic of transfer is located in the staff department Knowledge and Technology Transfer. Here you can obtain information on contract research and service projects, patents, licences and contacts with various partners from business and industry. Interested parties from all faculties are advised by the Entrepreneurship Cluster Mittelhessen on all topics relating to start-ups. The TransMIT Gesellschaft für Technologietransfer mbH also plays a central role in knowledge and technology transfer at JLU. TransMIT is dedicated to the marketing of innovative technologies and services from the three universities in Central Hessen (JLU, Philipps-Universität Marburg, Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen, THM).

The internet portal of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) offers a lot of information, advice and tips on the topic of start-ups. In addition, the BMWK has launched the EXIST funding programme to support scientists in preparing their technology-oriented and knowledge-based start-ups.
