From abroad to JLU
Postdocs coming to JLU, especially from abroad, can find a wide range of information and support at the International Office on how to prepare for their stay, on important formalities or on life in Giessen. The bilingual Guide for International Researchers also provides some initial information.

"Make it in Germany" is the Federal Government's information portal for skilled workers from abroad. It offers in-depth information on Germany as a research location and helpful advice on administrative requirements.
EURAXESS Germany provides international scientists who want to research and live in Germany with comprehensive information and the opportunity to search for a job. An overview of research institutions in Germany can be found on the GERiT portal of the German Research Foundation (DFG), the German Rectors' Conference and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
An overview of the German science system, life in Germany and career paths is provided by the Research in Germany portal of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the DAAD. The DAAD also summarises funding programmes for financing your research stay in Germany in its scholarship database. Current developments in science policy can also be found on the BMBF website.
