Before Applying
First of all, you have to be nominated by your home university via email: mobility
Nomination deadlines:
- for the winter semester: 15 May
- for the summer semester: 15 November
Application Procedure
As the academic year is divided into two semesters, you can apply for either the winter or summer semester.
The following annual application deadlines apply for the university as well as for accommodation in one of our student residences:
- Summer semester:15.12.
- Winter semester: 15.06.
Please note that we can only guarantee a place in student halls of residence if we have received your application in due time. The link for applying for a place in student accommodation will be will be published in our online application. As an exchange student, please only use this link.
Language Requirements
We usually recommend a German language level of B1. Some faculties require higher language skills – we will inform you about it, if applicable. To attend courses at our department of German studies it is required to have a German language level of B2 ( e. g. Zertifikat Deutsch – Goethe-Institut or TELC, DAAD Sprachtest etc.) corresponding to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Students who want to attend courses at our department of Psychology it is required to have an English language level of B2. Students need to submit a corresponding language certificate
Please pay attention to our German Language course offer: The International Spring Course in March or the International Summer Course in September as well as language classes during the semester. Required Documents
The following documents must be submitted to mobilityby the deadline:
- Fully signed application (as one PDF document)
- Transcript of Records (or a comparable certificate from your home institution in German or English)
- Learning Agreement
