Thin-Film Methods for electrochemical Energy Storage
The research focus is on the field of solid state batteries, with particular emphasis on the development of thin-film model systems using pulsed laser deposition (PLD) and ion beam sputtering (IBS) as well as the characterization of interfaces in solid state batteries using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). For this purpose, in-situ and operando experiments in the XPS are intensively pursued. Dr. Sann is also the contact person of AG Janek for XPS and thin film deposition.
