Functional Thin Layers
In the working group, functional thin films are synthesized by means of cathode and ion beam sputtering, subsequently characterized and optimized in an application-oriented manner. To analyze the transport properties and the optical and crystalline characteristics, a variety of measurement methods are used, which are available in the other working groups of the Center for Material Research. The main research areas are solid electrolytes for battery applications, optoelectronic and photovoltaic materials as well as thermo- and electrochromic coatings.
