Sep 14, 2018: The results of the supply and demand analysis report are available!
The evaluation of the supply and demand analysis report within the framework of the project has been completed and is now available in a comprehensive results report.
The project is based on an extensive supply and demand assessment at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. In a first step, existing continuing education offers for young scientists at Justus Liebig University in the field of digitization in teaching were explored and compiled in an overview.
The results of the survey should provide information about the current state of knowledge as well as the needs and expectations of the target group and support those involved in the project in formulating concrete recommendations for action, which form the basis for the development and implementation of an e-learning continuing education concept for young teachers within the framework of the project.
You will find the detailed results report to browse through on the page under "About us" or as a Download.
Please be informed that the analysis report is in german. |

June 12, 2019: The Project as guest at the Coffee Lecture of the University Library
Last Wednesday, on 5th June 2019, we were guests at the Coffee Lecture of the University Library at the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen. Our topic? the digitalization of teaching in higher education. And since the Coffee Lecture is primarily a format for students, we presented not only the advantages for teacher in higher education, but also the versatile possibilities and positive aspects of digitalization for students. The first use of the green screen was exciting as well! The greenscreen makes it possible to insert and kind of background while editing the finished images and to replace it with the green screen. Wh haven't included puppies or cat-content here and inserted the presentation slides instead. Aroused interested? Then just click on the picture below and you will get straight to the video of the Coffee Lecture on the YouTube-Channel of the University Library.

Nov 19, 2019: TEFLhybrid@JLU - hybrid learning in foreign language teacher education
TEFLhybrid@JLU (TEFL = Teaching English as a Foreign Language; JLU = Justus Liebig University) is a newly developed course format that combines place-based, face-to-face instruction (f2f) in the classroom with more exploratory, collaborative, and increasingly self-regulated learning in virtual space (online). Within this format, all interaction takes place in the English language. ‘Hybrid learning’ implies a functional combination of various approaches and media. |
|
With support from "Einstieg mit Erfolg 2020" (sub-project "Expansion of e-learning offerings"), a new hybrid course format was tested at the Chair of English Didactics at the Institute of English Studies at Justus Liebig University in the summer term of 2019. TEFL Hybrid Learning (TEFL - Teaching English as a Foreign Language) focuses on systematically linking various media, methods and approaches, such as guided learning in class (offline) with independent learning in virtual space (online), i.e. individual and collaborative learning phases, print media and digital media, instruction and exploration, theory and practice. In an interview, Professor Dr Jürgen Kurtz reports on his experiences with the implementation of the new event and gives tips on what teachers who also want to convert their concept to a hybrid format should bear in mind. |

Gießener Allgemeine Zeitung über Studium in neuen Dimensionen
Im Interview mit Maraike Büst, Projektleiterin Lehre 4.0 - E-Learning für den wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchs |
|

Jan 14, 2020: NEW Web based Training to "Good Scientific Practice"
New Web based Trainings to Good Scientific Practice available!
We are very pleased to be able to launch another Web based Training (WBT). A Web based training is a digital and interactive learning module that integrates digital media. In addition to the WBT on "E-Learning and legal rights", the project has dedicated itself to the no less relevant topic of good scientific practice.
The necessity of informing young scientists about good scientific practice and its importance has been particularly strong in the recent past: Prominent cases of scientific misconduct and new (digital) framework conditions for academic work and publishing in research and teaching are once again demonstrated the necessity and importance of good scientific practice (see Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft 2019a).
This Web based Training (WBT) is intended to enable you to sharpen your sense of good scientific practice and thus strengthen your professionalism as a researcher. In addition, this WBT should sensitize you to the topic and motivate you to shape your everyday research life in such a way that it complies with the rules of good scientific practice and provide you with concrete recommendations and hints on which you can orient yourself.
