International Mobility

ERASMUS+
The ERASMUS+ programme (EuRopean Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) was founded in 1987 to support the exchange of students throughout Europe. It is meant to support the aims of the European education agendas, namely to advance modernisation, internationalisation and the qualitative improvement of universities in Europe, to increase international competences, personal development and employability of students, to strengthen the EU’s attractiveness as a location of studies and science, as well as to contribute to a sustainable development of university training in third countries. ERASMUS+ supports:
- the mobility of individuals
- partnerships of organisations, institutions and initiatives for cooperation and support of innovation and for an exchange of tried and tested procedures
- policy support

DAAD
The DAAD offers long-term funding for doctoral students, which, depending on the programme, financially support short conference visits and long research stays during the time of one’s doctorate:
- annual scholarships for doctoral students
- short-term scholarships for doctoral students
- congress and conference trips programme
- project-related exchange of persons with different countries:
At the centre of this lies the initialisation and intensification of cooperative research activities between a German and a foreign university and/or research institution, aimed at strengthening economic relations. The qualification of junior scientists is of the utmost importance here. One can apply for DAAD funds to pay for travelling allowances and means to stay abroad for members of a German research group for short-term visits to the foreign partner institute.
For 2018, applications can be made for the following countries: Finland, Japan, Norway, Slovenia, Thailand
