International Partners & Networks

The GGK/GCSC takes part in various multilateral networks that provide PhD students with further possibilities to participate in academic events such as summer schools and international conferences. These networks offer a great variety of different forums for presenting work in progress and receiving feedback from international scholars.

CHCI

The GCSC is institutional member of the Consortium of Humanities Centers and Institutes (CHCI). From 2014-2016 the GCSC was one of the participating institutions in the pilot project Integrative Graduate Humanities Education and Research Training (IGHERT), funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The project brought together doctoral students and faculty from UC Santa Cruz, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Australian National University as well as JLU Giessen."

Activities in the context of such bilateral cooperations include jointly organised conferences, symposia, and workshops, the exchange of doctoral researchers and senior scholars, as well as cotutelle degrees and binational PhD-supervision agreements.
