The ”Shift from teaching to learning“  is the key principle in up-to-date Academic Higher Education. According to this principle, students can make the most of their learning process, when engaging actively in their classes. In this workshop, we are going to address various ways to activate our students accordingly. We will focus on didactic methods for an activating start of a class, methods for working with texts and discussions, as well as methods to summarize and conclude classes, evaluating the learning progress made. To “practice what we preach”, we will carry out activating methods in the workshop, then assess and discuss how to integrate these in your classes. After this course, you will be able to identify suitable ways for you to activate your students and promote their active learning process.
