PK: Academic Writing II

This workshop is offered as an English-language version of the course on ‘Wissenschaftliches Schreiben’, normally taught in the Winter Semester. It is designed for doctoral candidates working on their first academic article. Subjects under discussion will include how to pick an article topic and title, how to achieve the appropriate tone, style, and structure for publication, as well as some discussion of the publication process itself, including where, when, and how to submit. As well as looking at some sample journal articles, there will also be the opportunity to discuss your own writing.

To participate in the course, you will need to complete a short questionnaire, including the title and abstract for a journal article which you are currently planning, writing, or hoping to submit. This form will be emailed to you after you sign up using the PGN system – if for any reason you are unable to sign up through PGN, please email me and I will send you a copy. Please return the form to me at Tom.Clucas@gcsc.uni-giessen.de by 17.04.2015, so that I have a chance to read all of the forms and gauge your interests and requirements.
