This workshop elaborates on the practical aspects of organizing different types of events within and outside of the GCSC, such as Reseach Area Meetings, Workshops, Masterclasses, Keynote Lectures and Conferences. Its aim is to give an overview of the necessary steps and organizational procedures in order to be able to successfully realize the course of  an event. The instructors will provide templates and information on institutional gulations, contact persons and established best practices. Furthermore, they will share first-hand experience from challenges that occurred during the course of organizing an event and invite the attendees to share their own stories and opinions on good and/or bad events. The workshop is designed as the second part to Michael Basseler’s and Jens Kugele’s workshop on coordinating and moderating collaborative research groups and is aimed at RA / AG speakers and students who are interested in planning an event.
