Anniversary Workshop: James Mark: Eastern Europe, Socialism, and the 'Global Turn'

This workshop will examine the 'global turn' in eastern European studies as it relates to the study of the state socialist period. It will assess emerging methodologies, the way in which the regional history of state socialism might be rewritten if we adopt a global frame, and assess the contribution that eastern European specialists might make to the development of global/ transnational/ regionally entangled histories more broadly.
