This course will familiarize you with some tools that can help you with a subject-specific literature search as well as with the management and processing of your search results.

In the first part of the course you will get an introduction to the literature management system Citavi. The Citavi software supports the entire research process from searching for literature sources to finishing your paper. You will learn how to import references and citations to your Citavi project , how to evaluate the content of and plan tasks within your project, and finally how to create a publication in a particular citation style.

The second part of the course focuses on the various research sources that are available for the area of cultural studies. You will learn which databases, online journals, and search engines exist for your subject and how you can effectively use them for your literature search. In both parts of the course there will be ample time for practical exercises.
