SFB 1021,"RNA Viruses: RNA Metabolism, Host Response and Pathogenesis", project Z03
Project Z03: "Central resource facility for (quantitative) proteomics applications of RNA-virus infected cells"
Short summary:
Infection of target cells by RNA viruses result in the rapid reprogramming of cellular signalling, post-translational modifications (PTMs), protein interaction networks and translation rates. Z03 will provide a versatile and state of the art proteomics and bioinformatics platform to enable the proteome-wide investigation and quantification of (i) protein interactions / interactomes, (ii) protein expression levels, (iii) proteins undergoing de novo synthesis (translatomes), (iv) (regulated) PTMs and (iv) individual (purified) proteins. A broad spectrum of follow-up bioinformatics (meta-)analyses will be utilized to achieve a more holistic view on the molecular interactions during RNA virus infections.
