The binding regulation for all degree programmes of the faculty 09 at Justus Liebig University are the examination regulations of the faculty 09.

English Language
The degree programmes Agrobiotechnology, Insect Biotechnology and Bioressources and Transition Management and Sustainable Transition are entirely taught in English (see § 8 Structure of the Master’s degree programmes).
All students who received admission to one of our English language degree programmes meet our language prerequisites as defined in the examination regulation of the faculty 09 at Justus Liebig University (see § 4 (3) Admission to the Master’s degree programmes).

Physical Presence
The degree programmes Agrobiotechnology, Insect Biotechnology and Bioressources and Transition Management are programmes with physical presence. Students have to reside in Germany/Giessen to attend the contact hours and follow the teaching.
The degree programme Sustainable Transition is the only digital programme in the faculty 09 Justus Liebig University.

Status of Enrolment - Arrival Date
Students who are officially enrolled at Justus Liebig University Giessen / Germany in one of the international degree programmes of the faculty 09 can start their studies in their respective degree programme Agrobiotechnology, Insect Biotechnology and Bioresources or Transition Management after they have arrived in Giessen. The enrolment certificate (green document) is legally binding and confirms that the given student is officially enrolled in the given degree programme.
Students who arrive later during a semester do not drop out of the degree programme. Our faculty09 specific course system allows an individual course timing. The study deanery of the faculty 09 /JLU Giessen provides individual counselling for international students on how to organize their studies after their arrival.
The examination regulations of the faculty 09 Justus Liebig University does not limit the study period to a certain number of semesters in any degree programme of the faculty 09.
Language of Correspondence
Our entire administration system is set up in English for the English degree programmes. Therefore, all documents, e.g. admission, transcript of records, emails within these programmes are in English only.
