At Faculty 08 - Biology and Chemistry, we offer two Master's degree programmes taught entirely in English.
M.Sc. Global Change: Ecosystem Science and Policy (Joint Degree)
The Master's degree programme "Global Change: Ecosystem Science and Policy" (M.Sc.) is a degree programme in cooperation with University College Dublin (UCD). In just 1.5 years you will receive a joint Master's degree with the title "Master of Science" (M.Sc.).

M.Sc. Sustainable Chemistry
The Master's degree programme "Sustainable Chemistry" is a new international degree programme of Faculty 08 at JLU, starting in the winter semester 2024/2025. It covers environmental, economic and social issues such as resource consumption, energy efficiency, climate protection, and health and safety in the context of the development and use of chemical products and processes.
The programme is taken over a period of four semesters. In addition to an introduction to the principles of sustainability, the modules in the first year cover topics such as sustainable organic chemistry, sustainable energy technologies and the circular economy for chemical processes. The courses are taught by experts at JLU who are internationally renowned in various areas of sustainable chemistry. The programme also teaches important soft skills such as innovation management.
