Research interests

To explain the behavior of animals in full, one must consider many different factors. One of the most important is the energetics, because without energy for foraging, breeding and rearing of young no one can survive. My research interests include the energetics of bats and small mammals, particularly the metabolic physiology and nutritional ecology. I carry out e.g. measurements of basal metabolic rates and feeding studies which provide information about the needs and utilization of resources.
