Population genetics and biogeography of glacial relicts/survival of Rosaceae species
Population genetics and biogeography of glacial relicts/survival of Rosa spinosissima and Rosa mollis / Rosa villosa
The aim of these projects is to unravel the recolonization process of rose species after the retreat of Pleistocene glaciers in Europe. Populations of these rose species exist today still in areas of glacial survival and have obviously very low invasive power to recover their original habitat. Present habitats of these isolated populations are threatened by both, environmental as well as anthropogenic constrains.
