The Department 04 History and Cultural Studies awards the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Doctor philosophiae - Dr. phil.) to doctoral candidates who have demonstrated their academic ability on the basis of a dissertation and a disputation. The doctorate is proof of a special scientific qualification beyond the completion of a scientific university degree. Please find the doctoral degree regulations for the humanities here.
