The position is part of the externally funded project "PVRI GoDeep Meta Registry" and is to be filled on a fixed-term basis in accordance with § 2 WissZeitVG and § 72 HessHG with the opportunity for own academic qualification at the Department of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine. The salary is in accordance with the collective labour agreement of the State of Hessen (E 13 TV-H).
As long as the maximum permissible duration of a fixed-term contract is not exceeded, you will be initially employed for a period of 3 years, with the option of extension thereafter.
Your tasks at a glance
- The PVRI GoDeep Pulmonary Hypertension Meta Registry is the world’s largest collection of real world data from pulmonary hypertension patients all across the world
- You will have the chance to shape the data infrastructure and enable medical experts to get new insights into the treatment of this currently still uncurable disease
- Make a change in the lives of potentially millions of patients by applying your data science skills to link and integrate data across countries and continents
- Work in a small and efficient team together with data scientists, software engineers and medical experts
The provision of academic services (including the processing of a research project financed by third party funds on a temporary basis) also serves the purpose of academic qualification.
Your qualifications and competences
- Completed Master‘s or equivalent university degree in Informatics/Mathematics/Data Science or similar. (medical background not required)
- Experience with one or more scripting languages (R Project, Python, Javascript)
- Experience or interest in application of machine learning methods
- Interest in working with real-world patient data
- Interest in working and with top international medical experts across the world.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills in English (and optionally additional languages)
