Teach and Connect - Teaching in Exchange: From Amateur Questions to ZPD

Does this sound familiar? You sit with colleagues and talk about teaching, challenges, expectations, experiences, and the future – and suddenly it hits you: We should really be exchanging ideas much more often. We think so too!

Or are you new to teaching? You already know a lot about the "what," but not so much about the "how"? In that case, your fresh student experiences are just as valuable as the knowledge of experienced instructors.

Together, we want to discuss innovative teaching projects at our universities, share good practices, and offer each other collegial support in navigating the “academic jungle”. Our goal is to build a community that serves as a co-creative platform for learning with and from each other about teaching. In a monthly format, we aim to inspire one another through brief presentations, while also receiving guidance from invited experts.

Possible topics include:

  • How can I develop my personal teaching style, and how does it influence my relationship with students?
  • What digital tools can I use to make my teaching more effective, and how have they changed my teaching practice?
  • What does good higher education didactics mean to me, and what role do I play as an educator – teacher, coach, or mentor?

What can you expect?

The kickoff event will take place on 18. December 2024, from 12:00 to 1:30 PM (CET) in a digital format. The agenda includes the following topics:

  • Introduction of the program concept and scheduling
  • Getting to know the participants
  • Collecting questions, ideas, topics, and concerns for upcoming workshops
  • Prioritization and selection of proposed topics
  • Setting up a mailing list for the TaC community
