Solid-state Batteries VI - From Fundamentals to Application
- International Bunsen Discussion Meeting "Solid-state batteries (SSB VI)"

We cordially invite you join us for the International Bunsen Discussion Meeting on Solid-State Batteries VI – From Fundamentals to Application! This in-person event will take place on November 13 - 15, 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany and follows the very successful series of conferences held at Frankfurt airport (HOLM) since 2014.
Solid-state batteries (SSB) are so far based exclusively on solid inorganic or solid polymer electrolytes and electrodes but may in the future also include “hybrid” concepts. While conventional liquid electrolyte-based batteries slowly reach their limits, SSB attract growing interest for their expected stability, safety and the intrinsic separator function of solid electrolytes. The latter may enable the use of lithium metal anodes thereby raising hope for a boost in battery capacity. However, despite the promises, many transport-related, interfacial and chemo-mechanical challenges still need to be solved and cell-designs for SSB need to be developed. Moreover, the production of SSB may require completely new concepts for processing. Consequently, these issues are in the focus of the ongoing research.
This meeting fosters collaboration between leading experts from a wide range of fields, including electrochemistry, materials science, solid-state physics, and engineering. By bringing together researchers from academia, research institutes, and industry, the forum will stimulate an intensive exchange on the theoretical and practical limitations of SSBs. We welcome both oral and poster contributions.
We are looking forward to your participation!
