Edith Ruvalcaba is a doctoral candidate at the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC) and the Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen Faculty 03 (Social Sciences and Cultural Studies). She is a scholarship holder of the cooperation program between Mexico's National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) and the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD). Her research focuses on cultural cooperation between the European Union and one of its strategic partners in Latin America, Mexico.
She obtained her Master's Degree in International Economic Relations and Cooperation by Universidad de Guadalajara (Mexico) and a Bachelors in Communications from Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico). Her international academic experiences include the Rushford-Peterson Highschool in Minnesota, USA, the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, Italy and the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. She has also 3 years' experience working in cultural cooperation and social cohesion projects in non-governmental organizations.
Dissertation working title: Cultural Cooperation in a Globalized World: The European Union and Mexico. Studying EU Cultural Foreign Policy in Latin America.
