2002-2005 Freelancer (Institute of Plant Ecology, JLU Gießen)
2000-2002 Rehabilitation
1999-2000 Research Associate, Post-doctorate Position (Department of Botany & Microbiology, The University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK, USA)
Main research areas
I am an individual-based modeler of plant community dynamics. I have developed individual-based models at the margin between community and ecosystem ecology. I am particularly interested in constructing grass and herbaceous species from trait databases and simulate their interaction in grassland communities under current climatic conditions and those of the future (via the Universal Individual-Based Model, UIBM). My second expertise lies in simulating mangrove forest dynamics individual-based (using mesoFON & macroFON).
