• mobilize the research community and contribute to the Earth System approach including international coordination, communication, outreach, capacity development/training;
• build strategic research partnerships through close collaboration with key stakeholders, partners, academia, research institutions and UN organizations;
• leverage and mobilize extrabudgetary resources in particular from competitive research calls;
