Late Arrival
I will arrive late. Is there a specific deadline that counts as late arrival?
“Late arrival” refers to arriving after the official start date of the semester, which may result in missing orientation and course activities. The orientation week begins on October 7, 2024, and the official start date of the program is October 14, 2024.
What consequences will my late arrival have?
Should I inform someone at the university about my late arrival?
Accommodation
Where can I look for accomodation?

Even though I am looking for accomodation, I can't find any. Who can help me?
Getting Started & Choosing Courses
When and how do I obtain my Student ID card?
It will be sent to you by mail, once you have entered a German residence adress.
Where do I find this semesters time table?
At JLU, you are responsible for the organization of your studies. There are no fixed timetables. You can choose your modules yourself. In doing so, you are responsible for ensuring that you meet all the necessary requirements of the degree program.
Is attendance mandatory?
Attendance is not usually mandatory in our programs, but some modules deviate from this rule. In general, we strongly recommend that you attend all modules in person so that you do not miss any of the course content.
How Do I choose and register for courses?
When can I start choosing my courses for this winter semester?
We recommend that you start after the orientation events. During orientation, you will learn all the relevant information and systems for course selection.
Will there be digital courses?
Yes, some of the EGR-courses will be digitally available. Please check for those in Stud.IP.
