This course is intended for doctoral candidates in all disciplines. The abstract as a specific type of text will be addressed.  It is of great importance in academia: whether in publications or applications (for project funding, conference participation or for third-party funding), an abstract is not only included in the required list of documents, but can play an important role in the selection process, On the one hand, the course focuses on what constitutes a convincing abstract, what it should or should not include and how it can be structured. On the other hand, the abstracts of the participants are discussed and jointly revised. For this, the participants are asked to send a self-written abstract on a topic of their choice (for a conference, application, etc.) to the course instructor by e-mail one week before the course.

Text contributions may be submitted in German or English.
