The topic of teacher-student interactions is as diverse as the personalities that teach and research in higher education. Nevertheless, there are a few variables that repeatedly occur in the cultural studies classroom, provoking questions among PhD students. What is clear is that positive interpersonal relationships in higher education play a decisive role in determining both the teacher‘s and student‘s success. Among the questions we want to explore in this course are: How can we deal with critical elements of texts in a productive way? How can we manage a group of various characters and needs in a sustainable way? Which role does the professionalization of aspiring teachers play in this process? As such, this course offers new insights and perspectives on teacher-student interactions in the study of culture.

Many offerings of the Teaching Centre can be credited as working units in the basic certificate “Kompetenz für professionelle Hochschullehre” (Competencies for Professional University Teaching) of the Hochschuldidaktisches Netzwerk Mittelhessen (HDM).
