 Thesis

  • General considerations

Every thesis with us is conducted under a supervision agreement. A full introduction of the thesis is conditional for starting the works on which the thesis will be based. The process is as follows:

- first meeting: discussion of the project background, the methods and the scientific goals

- signature of the supervision agreement, discussion of the contents for the introduction

- participation within the regular group meetings (every 2nd week) and the institute's seminar (during the term)

- submission and discussion of the introduction

- start working on the experiment(s)

  • Current topics to offer (please contact Prof. Schießl-Weidenweber)

"Analysis of biomass parameters in Brassica species under drought stress using 3D scans" (Bachelor)

"The influence of different stress intensities of heat and drought stress on physiological stress parameters in faba bean" (Bachelor)

"Identification of differentially expressed genes in response to drought stress in oilseed rape and Ethiopian mustard" (Master)

  •  Current thesis running

"Physiological comparison of drought tolerance between winter oilseed rape and Ethiopian mustard" (Bachelor)

"Dissecting components of superior yield performance in Syn-0 synthetics in spring faba bean (Vicia.faba L.)" (Master)

"The role of dynamic root parameters in building drought tolerance in rapeseed and Ethiopian mustard" (Bachelor)

  • Finished thesis (since 2024)

"Influence of drought stress in the transipration pattern of contrasting accession of winter oilseed rape" (Master)

"Identification of crossing parents in open-pollinated population of faba bean (Vicia faba) to maximize heterosis based on SNP data" (Master)
