Postdoc (m/f/d) in the field of natural product research

In accordance with § 2 WissZeitVG and § 72 HessHG, the position is to be filled on a fixed-term basis at the Department of Insect Biotechnology at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Nutritional Sciences, Environmental Management with the opportunity for own academic qualification. The salary is in accordance with the collective labour agreement of the State of Hessen (E 13 TV-H).

As long as the maximum permissible duration of a fixed-term contract is not exceeded, you will be employed for an initial period of 3 years. An extension for up to another 3 years is possible under the above-mentioned condition.

Your tasks at a glance

  • Opportunity for own academic and didactic qualification, activities in research and teaching according to § 72 HessHG
  • Taking on teaching duties according to the teaching obligation ordinance of the state of Hessen
  • Collaborate with our international team at the University and the Fraunhofer IME Bioressources in Giessen, focusing on the discovery and development of natural products for various fields (e.g., pharma, agro and veterinary)

Your qualifications and competences

  • Completed Master‘s or equivalent university degree an Ph.D. degree in biology, chemistry, pharmacy or similar
  • Publication-proven experience in relevant fields
  • Good proficiency in spoken and written English
  • A completed postdoc position is desirable
  • German language skills are not required, but the willingness to learn German is a plus
  • Team-oriented, good communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
