Composition of the study programme
The course of studies consists of:
- a joint introductory module "Intercultural Communication" (10 CP)
- a foreign language major (40 CP)
- a minor in economics (20 CP)
- a second business language (20 CP)
- the master thesis (30 CP)
The following foreign languages are offered as major subjects:
- Anglophone Literary, Cultural and Media Studies
- English Linguistics
- French
- Spanish
- Portuguese
- Russian
The following foreign languages are offered as a second business language:
- English
- French
- Croatian/Serbian/Bosnian
- Polish
- Portuguese
- Russian
- Spanish
- Czech
The second business language (20 CP) can be replaced by a practical project and/or internship.
In addition to the studies mentioned above you will study Economics as a minor.

Entrance requirements
The admission requirement is a relevant Bachelor's degree (or an academic degree recognised as equivalent), which comprises modules of at least 40 CP in the chosen major subject. The board of examiners may recognise other courses of study as equivalent after examining individual cases and, if necessary, grant the admission subject to conditions.

Language requirements: For some of the main subjects, language certificates are required. These must be presented before the start of the course of study, at the latest when enrolling. Please read the corresponding information on the language certificates carefully and send any questions to ZSB@uni-giessen.de, if necessary.

To participate in the Double Degree Programme with the University Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3 (France), a separate application is required in addition to the regular application via the JLU portal.
