Helene Elisabeth Heuser

About me

Helene Elisabeth Heuser is a PhD candidate at the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC) at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen. Her dissertation focuses on future imaginaries in mainstream popular music towards the turn of the millennium. Her research interests encompass popular music studies and ethnomusicology, the history, aesthetics, and (gender-) politics of popular music, ecological values, and global imaginaries in popular culture, K-pop, world music, and digital cultures. Helene holds a Master of Arts in Musicology from the University of Cologne and a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature and Musicology from the University of Bonn.
