About Lehre 4.0

The project "Lehre 4.0 - E-Learning for Young Academics" is a joint project between the Giessen Graduate Centre for Social, Economic and Legal Sciences (GGS) as the lead centre, the Giessen University Computer Centre (HRZ), the International Graduate Centre for Study of Culture (GCSC/GGK), the International Giessen Graduate Centre for Life Sciences (GGL) and the Centre for Foreign Language and Occupational Skills (ZfbK). The aim of the project is to bundle and expand existing education programmes in the field of digitised university teaching at the JLU in order to qualify and support young teaching scientists in the use of digital media in university teaching.

The project team consists of different team members in different project phases. The positions at HRZ and GGS are the essential contact points for the entire duration of the project.

Steering Group
The steering group of "Lehre 4.0" is the supreme committee of the project, which consists of representatives of the cooperation centres and institutions. It implements the overarching strategy and supervises the project.

After an extensive survey at the JLU in May 2018 to find out needs and stock regarding digitalization in higher education teaching, an interim evaluation was carried out in June 2019, after the conception and establishment phase of the project. This evaluation informs about the scope, visibility and impact of the project at the current project duration and also provides information about the needs and expectations of the target group. The results should support the project team in formulating concrete recommendations for action, which form the basis for the further development and optimization of an e-learning programm concept and offers for young academics on the subject of digital teaching in higher education within the framework of the project.
