The Emerging Topic Research Group Migration invites to an Intellectual Picnic, where we are going to discuss the current political dimensions of migration within the EU. Feel free, to bring material (text, video, pictures) that you'd like to share.

We want to continue our discussions and share our thoughts on Migration and current conjunctures (Konjunkturen). In this meeting we especially want to talk about the idea of producing papers for a special issue out of our thoughts and discussions. Of course all of you who haven't been there last time are warmly welcome, too. We are still in the very beginning of a process you can easily join.

Die WERKSTATT der Soziologie lädt ein Mail im Semester zur Gesellschaftsanalyse im Gespräch ein. Dozierende, Studierende, lokale und externe Gäste aus Wissenschaft, Politik und Kultur diskutieren, kritisieren und analysieren in der WERKSTATT aus trans- und interdisziplinärer Perspektive mit wissenschaftlichen oder künstlerischen Werkstatt-Vorträgen und Kommentaren glokale Entwicklungen und vergrößern den Blick auf das Lokale mit Perspektiven auf das Globale. Die WERKSTATT macht es sich zur Aufgabe, einen auffenen und partizipativen Raum für kritische Begehren an gesellschaftlichen Diskussionen in Gießen zu schaffen. Die WERKSTATT im Februar findet in Zusammenarbeit mit dem International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC) der Universität Gießen statt.

In our next meeting we want to plan the workshop with Fatima El-Tayeb, key-note speaker in the summmer term 2016.
