The Organizers:
The Horizon Europe project SHAPEDEM-EU sets out to rethink, reshape, & review the EU’s democracy support policies in Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia, Ukraine, Georgia, & Armenia within the EU’s Eastern & Southern Neighbourhood. We scrutinize the democracy support policies of the EU, investigating the role of EU's member states, key EU's institutions, third country actors, & international organizations, while emphasizing gender equality & digital transformations. We aim at developing a novel approach to democracy support – to be conceived as a social & inclusive practice based on shared learning among all stakeholders – for improved policy recommendations in the EU's policy toolkit.
