International Summer Course The four-week International Summer Course is organised by the International Office and offers international students, doctoral students and researchers preparation for their stay in Giessen and at our university. The core of the programme consists of intensive German language courses, practical exercises with regional studies content, workshops, city tours and various excursions.
Introducing Intercultural Competencies in Digital, International Teaching This workshop aims to cultivate a deeper understanding of our intercultural reality and address intercultural disparities in a constructive manner. Participants will actively engage in discussions covering a diverse range of topics, including the multifaceted dimensions of culture within university settings, strategies for enhancing intercultural awareness to improve teaching effectiveness, the enrichment of learning experiences through embracing diverse perspectives, personal biases and power dynamics within educational contexts.
NIDIT Open Lab - Lab for Innovative Teaching The Lab for Innovative Teaching in Giessen opens its doors every Wednesday from 10:00 to 15:00 for anyone interested in virtual and augmented reality. Visitors can ask questions, test devices and work on virtual teaching concepts at workstations. A VR lending station is also available for teaching and research purposes.
(DFG) Info Talks on DFG Funding Opportunities for Research Careers Germany’s largest independent research funding organisation offers funding opportunities for all career stages between doctorate and professorship. Join their online talk and get to know the DFG and its funding portfolio for postdocs. We offer an overview of all funding instruments for the time after your PhD as well as specific focus talks on the Walter Benjamin Programme, the Emmy Noether Programme and the Heisenberg Programme. We will also provide advice on how to prepare your proposal for the review process and answer your questions. PhD candidates and postdocs of all disciplines are welcome to join!
Next Future Network Talks This series is especially for (young) researchers from the life-science / medical sector. It is co-organized by the PCMO@GGL and the Max Planck institutes in Marburg and Bad Nauheim, as well as the Marburg school for microbiology. It features a short presentation of invited speakers and offers room for some questions. The series is in english. This online series is normally scheduled for the first Friday every month from 12:00 to 13:00h.

Consultation hours take place every first Tuesday of the month from 9 to 10 am.
