Financial Aid for Foreign Students at JLU in the Closing Phase of Their Degree
For the final phase of studies, the International Office awards partial scholarships to international students at JLU (in Bachelor's, Master's or Staatsexamens programmes). The final scholarships are financed by the DAAD and the Federal State of Hessen.
It is envisaged that the scholarship will last 3 to 6 months: 300-450 € per month (starting October or November 2024).
The Commission decides on the awarding of the final scholarships including the amount and period of funding!
Please note that we currently have very limited scholarship funds available.
The scholarship will be granted to international students who
- are enrolled in bachelor's and master's programmes or state examination programmes
- aspire to a degree at JLU (no exchange students, no Free Movers, no German course participants, no participants of the A cademic Qualifying Course (Studienkolleg) and no doctoral students)
- are in the final phase of their studies (last 12 months before graduation) and have gained at least half of the required achievements in the respective degree programme (e.g. at least 90 credits in the Bachelor, at least 60 credits in the Master),
- are in Germany at the time of application and during the scholarship period,
- have not received another scholarship for the same purpose. Furthermore, a simultaneous funding by the International Office, the "Förderverein für unschuldig in Not geratene Studierende e.V. - Solifonds", the "Katholische Hochschulgemeinde" and the "Evangelische Hochschulgemeinde" is not possible.
