Workshop & Special Issue in Review of Network Economics on
Financing and Performance of the European Rail Sector
The workshop’s focus is on the extent and the structure of public budget contributions to European railways as well as its implications on the performance of the sector. Topics of interest include approaches to compare the level of public budget contributions between countries as well as analyses of the performance of the sector. A further topic concerns the regulation of the sector and its interaction with specific financing structures in the determination of incentives for market participants.
Researchers working in this field are invited to submit a paper. We furthermore would like to encourage practitioners to contribute insights and data for the railways in their country of origin in form of a poster presentation. More detailed information on data is available in a background paper.
