Publishing is a complex and lengthy process. Emily Kindleysides from the renowned Routledge Publishing House therefore gives us an insight look into the publishing process from the first manuscript to the successful book launch, and beyond. She will address the following questions telling us about her daily work experience as Publisher Textbooks Law, Business, and Economics at Routledge:
- How long can a publication process take? Which factors determine this?
- Who is involved and which decisions are made by whom?
- What happens at different points in time during the process?
- What qualities make a text ‘publishable’? What standards are there?
- How does communication between publisher and author work during the publication process?
- What things should you consider if you want to publish with Routledge?
- What happens to my publication after it is finished?
- Will I incur costs, or can I also earn something as an author?
