01.08.2024 - Call for Applicants: International PhD Program for Agricultural Economics, Bioeconomy and Sustainable Food Systems
The International PhD Program for Agricultural Economics, Bioeconomy and Sustainable Food Systems was first accredited in 1992 by the founder, the German Academic Exchange Office (DAAD). To date, more than 130 candidates have received their PhD through the 42-month program in Giessen.
The application period for the 2025 intake is now open! The application deadline is 31st of August 2024.
Who can apply?
- Outstanding scholars from developing countries and emerging economies (DAC)
- At least 2 years of work experience (counts after your Bachelor)
- excellent written and spoken English
- MSc degree obtained not more than 6 years prior to application
- MSc degree in agricultural economics or related subjects
The program is open to candidates from any country receiving Official Development Assistance (ODA). Given the current research portfolio, applicants from Central Asia and southern Africa with a background in agricultural development are especially welcome. The program is open to scholars with a degree in agricultural economics or neighbouring social science and geoscience disciplines.
